Mosque of Amr Ibn Al As

The Mosque of Amr Ibn Al As is the first mosque built in Egypt and Africa,constructed by Amr Ibn Al As in 642 AD. It was built in a rectangular shape with a low roof made of wood and palm leaves, supported by columns of palm stems, stones, and mud bricks. The floor was covered with gravel. This original mosque was about 29 meters in length and 17 meters in width since its foundation, the Mosque of Amr Ibn Al As has undergone many additions and extensions. One of the most significant was made by Governor Abdullah Ibn Taher during the reign of Caliph Al Mamoun in the 9th century. He extended the mosque, adding a new area,making it measure 120 meters in total.

El Hussein Mosque:

El Hussein Mosque is one of the most sacred Islamic sites in Cairo and Middle East. El Hussein Mosque was built in 1154 A.D. Bayt Al Suhaymi:

Bayt Al Suhaymi is situated behind Khan el Khalili area. Bayt Al Suhaymiwas originally built in 1648 by Abdel Wahab el Tablawy along the Darb al Asfar. Then, Haj Ismail built another par t in 1699, as the two parts are connected. In 1796 .Bayt Al Suhaymi was purchased by Sheikh Al Suhaymi whose family held it for several subsequent.
Today the house is a museum. Much of the marble floor work, wooden furniture, and ceiling decor are still unbroken. IBayt Al Suhaymiis infrequently visited by tourists. It is a very beautiful and prestigious place.

The Gayer Anderson House / Museum is the house of the British Egyptologist Garry Anderson. The Gayer Anderson House rooms display very interesting artifacts of the traditional life of the Egyptian elites. The Gayer Anderson Houseis an Ottoman style house. The Gayer Anderson Museum is located adjacent to the Mosque of Ahmad Ibn Tulun in the Sayyida Zeinab neighborhood. The museum takes its name from Major Gayer Anderson Pasha, who resided in th e house between 1935 and 1942 with special permission from the Egyptian Government. It is noted for being one of the best preserved examples of 17th century domestic architecture left in Cairo, and also for Gayer Anderson's vast collection of furniture, carpets, and other objects.
