These jars were typically made of stone or pottery and were decorated with intricate designs and hieroglyphics. Each jar was associated with one of the four sons of Horus, who were believed to protect the organs of the deceased in the afterlife. Today, canopic jars are highly valued artifacts that provide insight into the beliefs and practices of ancient Egyptian culture.
