The Pharaonic key to lifeThe “ankh” symbolizes new life and power, and it is also a miniature map of Egypt, according to a number of interpretations surrounding one of the most prominent symbols of ancient Egypt. Despite the interpretations, most scholars have concluded with one interpretation that is the leading reality. The key to life is linked to beginnings, and it is known in ancient Egypt as “Seb-Tebi”, meaning the first breath, and it is a symbol of the first life when the goddess began the life of humans and kings on earth. There are many interpretations behind the Key of Life, the second of which is that it represents the Nile River with its two branches and the delta, and thus it is considered a miniature map of Egypt.
